Man, that was really fucking good.
I’m warming up to it. The last minute and a half are superb, and I wish they would have focused more on that part. Sounds like the Halloween theme via The Background World.
Then again, on third listen, I am enjoying the rest more. I wouldn’t mind if Trent and Atticus helped out Carpenter for the upcoming sequel...

I'll just say I like Halloween with triple L typo in this topic's title.
Carpenter is doing a show in LA on Halloween. I wonder if Trent and Atticus will join him for a live performance.
Not on Spotify UK at present, so there's this...
Liked it - last couple of minutes is particularly good, and I liked the gothicness of the earlier portion - maybe should wait for a proper audio though - sounds muddy here.
Apple have taken my money but won't give me the song. Keeps saying "item unavailable" when I try to download it.
Amazon have it available for download.
If only they would cover the main theme and chariots of pumpkins from Halloween III
Happy Friday the 13th, fuck yeah!
I think the whole point is that the last 3 minutes has the impact that it does precisely because the prior 4:30ish is similar to the original with just some flourishes added to give it a grander feel. Then that ending comes in and surprises you.
This is fantastic.
I'm a fan of Carpenter, but Halloween is probably my least favorite of his movie themes, so I kinda wish they've chosen something (anything) else from his discography. That said, those last couple of minutes rock.
Slap my balls and call me Shirley this is great
If this leads to composers covering Carpenter (or TRAR covering Carpenter) I will buy the shit out of that album
This is delightful. A perfect treat for Friday the 13th.
For those saying it sounds too much like the original—think of some of the not so great remixes (looking at you, Things Falling Apart) and ask yourself if you’d prefer something like that. You wouldn’t, right? On that same album, there’s the cover of Numan’s “Metal.” Would you say it sounds too much like the original or...
Like “Metal,” this pays a lot of respect to the original with some trademark TR/AR flourishes (just TR with regards to “Metal”).
Does anyone know if this is the 7' included with the vinyl purchase? I need details!!
Weird. When you go to the album on Amazon, it won't let you purchase the song separately yet. But you can here:

First 2 minutes, zzz
Next 3 minutes, ah well, you know, it sounds like the new version of Carpenter. It is the main theme.
Last 2 minutes, OH MY GOD!!!
Downloaded from Google Play no problem, it's OK, I'll probably forget it exists though. :-)
Sounds fucking dope on Tidal HiFi.
Just so everyone knows, this is NOT the same as the new John Carpenter version. If you buy the album, you will NOT get the TR&AR version. This is the album version by Carpenter.

correct, this is the TR&AR version - https://johncarpentermusic.bandcamp....ters-halloween
^^^ Aw, damn. I had assumed (without actually looking) that the album was all different artists covering Carpenter themes.
As for the track itself, I really like it. I'm not crazy about the way the piano of the main theme is sort of muted instead of being piercing and reverb-y, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. I agree that the end is way more interesting than the rest, but I also like that the song builds up to it. Act I: TR/AR, Act II: Halloween, Act III: TR/AR + Halloween = Sex.
This is good. Like. Really fucking good.
Loved those creepy sounds!

i fucking love this. that high pitched droney/pulsey thing that fades in and out over parts keeps repeating in my head. it's both scary and fun.
the climax is such a fucking tease.
So we’ve all been listening to this nonstop for the last two days, right? It’s not just me?
