This gets better with repeated listens. Also, so much better after hearing Trent explain what Bad Witch is about. It's total madness.
can anyone send me a link to the flac file. I mistakenly selected MP3 on my order. ugh!!!
This is nuts. Really digging it. I get a little bit of a Lost Highway vibe but like countless others have now said, late-period Bowie's DNA is all over this. It's surprising.
Random and unrelated post about being asleep and what its like; by some of TRs friends...(Maynard/Billy)
Anyone got a 24 bit WAV of this? I'm holding out for the store to offer a digital download on release day. Your help will be much appreciated. Been listening to an MP3, but would like to give this a proper listen in hi-res. Cheers!
Reminds me of Ghosts-era tracks but with lyrics... I dig it.
Fuck us both running.
First off, "we are a treacherous people" is so Bowie my cock hurts.
Then we've got references to "Not Anymore" ("that maybe happens to somebody else no that doesn't happen round here"), "The Lovers" ("the center has moved on and all that’s left is free"), "Less Than" and "Lovers" again with the mention of being hypnotized and fucking everything on NTAE and AV with the line about "I believe I am sleeping after all".
Jesus. Fuck.
This is one of those things that will need to become history or maybe part of my collection inside my own head for me to have any concrete opinion about. Right now, it is a puzzle that I want to solve. Which is hilarious since the lyrics talk about how there are no answers here. It's not something I'm going to play on repeat. It's too harsh and difficult for my taste, in that respect. I have a feeling it will grow on me the way cEvin Key's solo works did, which is what I thought of after the Bowie influence hit me.
where did you get the flac from?!
"Not me" part reminds me of The Loneliest Guy
This is really hard not listening. Even got the email saying, here it is, listen! I think I will cave in the next hour while I'm in the airport.
Perhaps if Trent sung the way he does on God Break Down The Door over something that sounds musicially more like The Perfect Drug, then I would agree on the Earthling comment. I guess the closest this new track is maybe to something like The Last Thing You Should Do on Earthling.
Anyone else bummed that we won't find the answers here? Or at least not the ones we've been looking for?*
*I apologize for this shitpost but I am obsessed with this tune.
Didn't Bowie already put this one out a couple years back?
I listened. It's awesome. Definitely bowie-esque, especially when the vocals are double or triple tracked. That harmony is something he would do. The vocals are not as jarring as I anticipated based off these reactions. Also, the second part isn't as nin sounding as I anticipated based off reading this thread. Interesting choice as a first single. I am pumped for this album. Good stuff, way better than I expected. On to listen #2.
The vocals also remind me of "moonlight" from the newest death from above album, one of the best songs on that album. He does that same Bowie tribute delivery.
