To sort out some confusion, people have been wondering how Splinter is Gary's 20th album (as is stated on wikipedia and by Gary on the Splintered DVD).
It's a tricky one, because some people would consider "Hybrid" an album, though it's reworkings of songs and not an actual LP, just like Dead Moon Falling (remix record) and Jagged Edge (different versions of Jagged).
The official way I have it in my mind is to include Automatic (with Bill Sharpe), and that equals exactly twenty; so:
Tubeway Army (1978) (with Tubeway Army)
Replicas (1979) (with Tubeway Army)
The Pleasure Principle (1979) (Numan's first album under his own name)
Telekon (1980)
Dance (1981)
I, Assassin (1982)
Warriors (1983)
Berserker (1984)
The Fury (1985)
Strange Charm (1986)
Metal Rhythm (1988) (New Anger in the United States)
Automatic (1989) (With Bill Sharpe)
Outland (1991)
Machine + Soul (1992)
Sacrifice (1994) (Dawn in the US)
Exile (1997)
Pure (2000)
Jagged (2006)
Dead Son Rising (2011)
Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind) (2013)
Or, to quote what I posted at the NumanME forum -
I still stick by this listing. No remix albums; Dead Son Rising is indeed an album in its own right, and although Automatic was a collaboration, it is a full album. Gary states in the "Splintered" DVD that Splinter is the 20th record, so I'm going with this listing. It makes sense to me.
Hybrid, Dead Moon Falling and Jagged Edge are reworkings of tracks. None of the below fall into that category, and Dead Son Rising is too full of new material that isn't remotely like the original demos for it not to be considered an album.
Just made a purchase, picked up the Machine Music dvd they just put up as well as Splintered and A Question of Faith CD.
Ryan, what about The Plan by Tubeway Army? I know it was largely demos, thrown together by Beggars to complete Numan's contract, but I still think it counts.
I guess it comes down to whether you want to include "The Plan" or "Automatic". Again, it's a tricky one.
Finally, TPP in Sydney shows up as disc 2 of Machine Music -

I recently got the taste of track remixing and I was wondering if the multitracks Gary released along the time are still available somewhere.I'd love to remix a few.
If anyone has the Demos and Remixes CD from the Splinter Deluxe version, can you PM me? I bought both the CD and the vinyl and was annoyed to find out they don't give the download code right away but instead include it in the package that is mailed to you. Someone has already given me the main CD but he didn't have the Demos and it's not on TPB either. Thanks if you can help.
Edit: thanks dude I really appreciate it. That's why I love this comm: I post last night at 11:48 p.m., answer in my message box by 7:00 a.m. xo

March north American tour with big black delta!
No Atlanta show this time but there's a big gap between Dallas and Nashville so maybe some dates will be added. Otherwise I'll drive to Nashville.
May ask for credentials to shoot also. I have to see the venue - I dislike shooting when there is no barrier. I could kick myself over not doing this for the last Atlanta show - that is a great venue for photography because the photo "pit" is actually a little mini stage slightly below the main stage (which is only three feet high anyway) and there are mere inches more to the artist. And I can always shoot all night there. I'm so annoyed at myself for letting that chance pass by last time, esp. after Robin showed up. Grrrrrr.
Can someone please PM me this remix?
I don't use Facebook anymore -

No need, it just points to a direct link for the file on Gary's website.
I'm really enjoying the Pleasure Principle set from the Machine Music Live DVD, but on the main set, they were apparently unable to salvage Gary's lead vocals from the high-frequency drum spillage that Ade Fenton alludes to in the bonus interviews -- the only time his mic is live is when the band isn't playing.
Basically, the mix sounds really good, but I can hardly see the point of watching the visuals when his main vocal is from a totally different performance. Should've bought the CD instead, I guess.

Okay this is truly huge. I've been hearing about Gary's appearance on the Australian TV show Countdown from 1981 for about five years now. It wasn't available anywhere and I only heard about it from those who'd seen it long ago. Well my friend Peter McGuffie in Victoria has finally tracked down the elusive appearance. This is definitely one I'd been wanting to see. Huge Hat Tip to Peter!!!
Gonna see him in the Twin Cities. Who is in the live band now?
Pretty sure it's:
Ade Fenton - keyboards, effects, etc
David Brooks - keyboards
Steve Harris - guitar
Tim Muddiman - bass
Richard Beasley - drums
Also, FYI -

My friend Jeff Tolva is the curator of the Gary Numan Compleat Discography, one of the most valuable resources on the Webb for fans of Gary Numan. I find myself visiting frequently, especially for the exhaustive listing of every tour and gig Gary has done, along with the band members involved. Jeff sent me this list to share with you. It details the musicians Gary has ever played with, along with number of gigs they've joined Gary on. And I've just now noticed Gary's total number of gigs. I've done about a third of his shows! Yikes! Thanks, Jeff!

Just saw he added a tour date in my city (Tucson.) I screamed a bit. Excited.
Numan and his living room were profiled in the Daily Mail (UK rag) this weekend, I think it was Saturday's magazine supplement. (I don't buy it, I spotted it at my parent-in-law's)
Listening to Exile for the first time in a while. Man, this album always hits me right in the feels. Love those big synth moments, such a great record.
^ Especially the title track.
Numan back in Australia and NZ in May!

Let me ask you a quick question If I may..
Did you enjoy the Pleasure Principle Tour in 2011?
If you did, I have a surprise for you, a HUGE one.
Numan is BACK! Live and In (dark) living colour, only this time..
It's going to be 10 times better.
Here's why -
As you know, last time the tour was a 'theatre' tour.
While this time..
We have decided to go more of an intimate route in some cities
with smaller venues, which means the intensity of Numan - up close and personal!
...it also means that tickets will be snapped up quickly!
Tickets go on sale at 9am Thursday 6th March
and you'll need to go here to get them before they're all gone
http://www.metropolistouring.com/current_tours_gary_numan_australian_tour.html
Numan's Australian Tour will happen in May.
The following cities are included:
Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne & Sydney.
Honestly I've been waiting for the right moment
To bring him back to you..
And what is a better time than the release of his
new album, Splinter!
...which is an absolute CRACKER.
If you enjoyed last time, then you will never forget THIS time.
But please keep in mind in Melbourne and Sydney these venues are roughly
Half the size of last time.
So secure your ticket when they go on sale
9am Thursday 6th March and enjoy the show!
