The latest MM update showing Gary working on that piano melody for about half an hour is really quite beautiful.

@botley - I’m listening to Jagged Live on Apple Music and “Before You Hate It” is listed as “Before You Want It”. Is there anywhere to submit corrections on there?
Lyrics to the new song in progress “I Am Screaming”. Bolded two lines that remind me of NIN -
I Am Screaming
Do you regret the words you never said?
Do you feel lost like I do?
Do you regret the things you never did
As if time waited for you?
Can you see me
Can you feel me
Can you hear me
I am screaming
Do you regret the songs you never sang?
A love betrayed and broken
Do you regret the life you never lived?
A thousand dreams unopened
Can you see me
Can you feel me
Can you hear me
I am screaming
You’re welcome to walk with me
You’re welcome to walk alone
You’re welcome to stand with me
You’re welcome to stand alone
For all the things that you could have been
Do you deserve forgiveness?
Of all the things that you could have seen
The blind could not have seen less
You’re welcome to walk with me
You’re welcome to walk alone
You’re welcome to stand with me
You’re welcome to stand alone
You’re welcome to sing with me
You’re welcome to sing alone
You’re welcome to die with me
You’re welcome
Conversely, some of Trent's lyrics are very Gary Numan. The last line from Are Friend Electric? is "you see it meant everything to me".
Anyone in Western / Central NY (or hell, the northeast US if you're really dedicated enough)

So from the latest Making Music update, I really love the beat of “Saints And Liars”. Really hoping he doesn’t abandon that one.
The repeated “you’re welcome...” lyrics in Betrayed are too similar to “Bed of Thorns” IMO.
Soooo Gary Numan kinda predicted this, too. He came up with the album concept before the virus became a thing. Here’s his latest Making Music update from today:

I hope you are all healthy and doing everything you can to keep it that way. Updates about music seem somewhat trivial in these frightening times but I've done one anyway. This update looks at a new song I'm working on called The Gift. As you know the Intruder album essentially takes the point of view that the Earth is alive and, more than that, has the view that human beings are a dangerous and damaging virus that it needs to get rid of to survive. The Gift is the Earth asking us if we like the gift it just sent us, so rather topical. As the Earth in the songs says, 'It's meant to take your breath away', (not the song, the gift).
I'm having a battle getting the verse vocal melody right with this one but the video will explain all that. Definitely haven't got it yet.
Be safe, be careful.
I just go to Gary's fb page to read the comments. Dude gets trolled so hard on his fb by angry fans, it is very entertaining
No its entertaining when in the middle of the biggest crisis this country has faced in 50 years where people are bleeding money and musicians all over are posting free livestreams to help their fans out and ol Gar is on fb asking people to give him more money for his patreon
As far as the Asperger's...He filled out an online survey and his wife diagnosed him as having it....Dude might wanna go see, you know...Like an actual doctor.

Gary's on the 'acoustic performance from home' train. And I am loving it!
And no, you're not required to pay for these, but you may of course continue bitching about them all you please.
Here's "Every Day I Die":
"CRIME OF PASSION" (FUCKING SWOOOON):
"Bleed" (with Persia helping on bridge vocal):
Is that directed at me or the 5000 people who demanded he upload free content on facebook last week? (Which is why he suddenly started uploading free content. Apparently wifey goes over his fb page like a fine tooth comb and saw all the 99% negative feedback of people blasting him and demanding free content. So you got these free videos because of all the "bitching".....but I digress)

Oh my god that rendition of Bleed is amazing! And Persia was so cute at the end: “is that song about Echo? You know, because she had those nightmares?”
Gary: “That song was written 20 years before she was born, so no!”
We officially need an acoustic album of every Numan release, especially Sacrifice.
I kind of want a acoustic Numan album now? Feels weird to suggest
I’ve never really paid much attention to those old Tubeway Army tracks. GN is right, they are great lyrics for such a young age:

@botley, two geeky questions for you:
1) Since Gary debuted the title track of “Intruder” live, it got me thinking about previous patterns with title track songs. With the Pure album, it’s title track first debuted live (before the album came out) as the “Friends” version, right? Then the title track of Jagged debuted live the same way (did it ever go under a different title? I know the album itself did at one point as Jagged Halo). After that, did Dead Sun Rising get performed live first before it’s album release? If not, it seems like DSR and Splinter are the only albums (since 2000 onwards) not to have their respective title tracks played live first. On that note, were any pre-2000 title tracks performed live before their album releases?
2) On the topic of “Splinter” as a title. In one of the Splinter documentaries available on YouTube, they do a q&a thing and Gary basically says that he committed to the title a long time before the album came out, and ended up sticking with it, eventually adding the Broken Mind subtitle. But as a song, has Gary ever commented on why he called that song in particular “Splinter”? Like how it relates lyrically? I’ve always presupposed that it was a play on, you know, God being a thorn or a “splinter” in his side. God or humanity. But has he ever made the connection in an interview?
Sorry, nerdy stuff here. So much info that could go into a numan.wiki...

"Jagged" debuted under that title live, "Pure" did not (it was initially just a new arrangement of "Friends"). "Savage" wasn't performed live until after the album came out, also. I think the only connection is that he decides early on a general direction for the album while writing it, and using a working title helps direct that focus, so it's kind of natural that the title song gets finished earlier than the others if that's the case.
Anyway, here's DITP, I'm not crying you are:
“Because of its privacy settings, this video cannot be played here.” is what it says for me.
Just click on it.
That was beautiful, these feel like an elegy for the end of the world. Good title for an acoustic GN album actually.
Wow, “song 7” from the latest MM update is ridiculously good... and he came up with it in a day or so?
