So I went to the FLA/GN/Ministry show tonight in Montreal. I've been trying to see Gary for at least 10 years now and tonight the stars aligned. Easily the night's highlight for me.

And then we go to the bar next door and it turns out Gary and his entourage are sitting fifteen feet away from us.

It's a weird feeling, sitting quite close to someone whose works you love and respect immensely, wanting to say something, but also not wanting to be one of those creepy rude awkward gushing fans that make the artist uncomfortable. Two words are enough, and I'm glad I got the chance to simply say "thank you" to which he replied "you're welcome" as his wife shuffled him past, desperately trying to find a new place once she saw people had clued in on their presence. Think I handled that well, was reluctant to even say anything, only got up because a friend of mine was chatting with his gutarist and figured I'd join him.

In Gary news, the three studio albums from '84–'86 are finally on streaming sites in full! Officially licensed to BMG with copyrights for new 2024 remasters. I've only played Berserker so far but it sounds great!

I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, is anything happening in the Numan world? Any rumours of a new album? I remember there being talk about re-releases of Exile, Pure and Jagged at some point, but nothing seems to have come of that.

I think they’ve been completed by now. Just waiting for a release announcement.

Incidentally this was from three years ago. Let’s hope he includes Metal Beat and Play Like God as well. Although this is the most important one to acknowledge to me.

Interesting… did he hint at what the update to come would be regarding? The Sacrifice/Exile/Pure reissues or a new album?

Oh, he did mention the loose plan for a new album was to be done by October next year, as he has a tour booked in late Nov/Dec. He hasn't started, but has some ideas to start on.

He probably won't do long tours anymore, the last one with Ministry Front Line Assembly had him away from home for too long and affected him too much.

I think the update will probably cover what has been going on with Gemmas health and stuff and I hope we get an update on Sacrifice/Exile/Pure. He didn't give any clues.

Nah, just talked over the Ministry tour, Gemma's health issues. Explained about Raven's career so far and a little about Persia's song with Billy Morrison. Nothing really on new music. Part 2 hopefully coming soon.
