So I was front center rail, when the lead singer of HMLTD jumped to the barricade and turned around (facing the stage, back to us, shirtless, sweaty), standing essentially right in front of, yet between, my spouse and I. He was up against the rail. It was as if he wanted us to do something--touch him? Bring him into the crowd? Well, we did nothing. It felt really awkward. As he was standing in that spot and I was thinking what do I do, my thoughts wandered to what would I be doing if that were Trent instead, and before I know it, time passed and he jumped back to the stage. Was I supposed to do something?
I thought they were one of the best NIN openers I've seen. Right up there with the Vegas opener in June. The music was interesting, even if outside my normal taste. And they were entertaining as fuck. I wish they would have swapped with JAMC because good god those dudes boring.

Probably won't get to those till after LA. I leave for LA Thursday afternoon.

Lol! Pat on the back maybe?? I must have been a few people to the right of you, saw him do that and thought he was going to do something as well.
I remember Alice Glass from Crystal Castles doing that when they opened years ago, it was weird, but a few pats on the shoulder from a few people, then she was back to the stage!
@NotoriousTIMP's bootleg for this show sounds absolutely amazing. Seriously, man, thanks for taping and sharing this.
I can't stop listening to TPD. The crowd reaction when the intro starts is unbelievable. I had full-body goosebumps hearing that cheer explode down on the floor and they get triggered again each time I replay this recording. The reaction was SO loud. I wonder what Trent thinks when he hears that each time they play it and if he mentally kicks himself for not making it a regular part of the set sooner.
Thank you @NotoriousTIMP for this recording! I just want to package up this show and continue living in it for the next few weeks.
I really can not stop reliving this show. It was about half way through when it started to dawn on me that it was nothing but old stuff and I kept hoping they wouldn't ruin it. I remember right after "Closer" I was praying that "Copy of A" would not start and got my wish, lol. Speaking of "Closer" I felt that it was right and very fitting to have it in the setlist. If it was any other show I might have said other wise but it being a 2018 version of Further Down the Spiral it just would not have have been complete without "Closer". When the encore started I just knew we'd probably get "Dead Souls" but in the back of my mind I kept thinking , what if they busy out "Down in It" or "Heresy" but was still content and really fucking happy to get "Dead Souls". I just can't express my gratitude for this show. I was unable to make it to Friday's show and accidently seen the first three songs played that night and left the internet until after Saturdays show, I must say if the roles were reversed and I only made it to the first show I don't know how I would live with my self. I was able to finally check off some bucket list songs after seeing Help Me I'm in Hell & Happiness in Slavery , Mr. Self Destruct ,Dead Souls and fucking The Perfect Drug. Wow is all I can say still!!! I got Phyisical played for the 11th time (total show count, not times I've seen it) since I seen it in KC in 2009 also, so glad and thankful for the return of Suck, Reptial and Sin being played at a show i was at since my show in STL back in 2005. I'll never be able to top this show EVER. I was at the Memphis show back in September and to be honest this Vegas show was so much more than anything I hoped Memphis would have been.

PHOTO DUMP!!! ENJOY!!
and during the night my friend and I bumped into a bearded dude (not @heavenly_bearded ) who sold use these SIN necklaces. We were piss drunk and thought it was a good idea and now I have no idea what I plan on doing with this thing. LOL
I had an itch to hear that "music" song again from these lads, but it's nowhere to be found on YouTube, unfortunately.
When you get around to uploading their set, can you please post the link here so I know where to check back? Thanks!
Damn! that's sick! I wish I ran into Santa Claus on the street too. I would have loved one of these. How much was it? And he had multiple for sale?
After the show, I went searching for people selling bootleg merch, but couldn't find any lol.
After the Paris show in June, my girlfriend and I tried to dupe one of them on the street... Some guy was selling cheap knock off printed posters of the stock photo they used for all the nights. The photo of the band in front of an orangeish light with the silhouettes of them in black and the crowd in front of them, that image... buddy on the street was trying to get us to buy a commemorate poster for $5, figured why the hell not... we were drunk... but we didn't have change... All I had were $20 bills, so the guy... for some odd reason, hands us the poster *AND* he hands us like 2 or 3 dollars in bills.... I don't know why, and he tells me to hang tight while he goes and gets change, and he disappears, and we're just standing there.... and standing there... and standing there... and we don't know where he went, so my girlfriend says "let's just leave" and we look around and just bolt for it...
But buddy caught on and came out of nowhere after us, lol, he took my $20 and handed me a $10 bill and gave me another poster... so we got stuck with 2 posters and he ran off... lol... In hindsight, we should have just walked away. It was a cheap knock off poster, and it got crushed in our suitcase on the way back anyway haha.
That's my story for ya'll about bootleg merch.
I also bought a bootleg t-shirt at the Aftershock festival w/ the NIN logo on the front for $10. After 1 wash the NIN symbol was already all cracking apart.
Bootleg merch always seems like a great idea at the time, especially if you've had a few drinks but nothing good ever comes of it.

Hey... were you the guy me and my buddy were talking to (u were talking more to my buddy, he is a tall bearded dude who wanted to see The Perfect Drug) by the mixing board on Night 1 in Vegas? You wanted Happiness in Slavery, if I remember correctly. And we saw you again at the end of Night 2 on the way out, and were talking to out into the casino.
And as all above have stated... this was one of the best NIN shows I have ever seen. And I saw them a bunch on TDS and Further Down the Spiral Tour. I've lost count but it's between 15-20 shows at this point. But Vegas 2 transported me back in time... the only thing that was missing was my dumb ass in the pit... too old for that shit now.
I enjoyed night 1 as well, as that was the type of setlist I wanted to see... newer stuff. My 'wants' were Background World and AATCHB, but there is no way I'm gonna bitch about it. We, as NIN fans, are extremely lucky Trent is touring and still giving it his all, every night, with awesome set-lists. I just don't get some of the criticisms but hey... it's the social media world we live.
I mean, TPD, Burn, & Dead Souls in the same set... probably the only time that has ever happened or will ever happen again (although it wouldn't surprise me if one of the LA shows got that).

That sounds like it could have been me, but at the same time, I don't think it is. I was with my girlfriend for these shows. We met some dudes in line waiting to buy merch night 1, medium sized skinny guy wearing fishnets and a beard and his friend that we talked to. Then while we were waiting in the GA line we were chilling with probably the tallest dude at the whole show @halo33 . Then we went straight to the rail once we got in. I did want TPD and Happiness both and was disappointed after night 1 and met up with all of the above mentioned after the show, but I think what gives it away that it wasn't me was all the dudes I talked to that night were in the pit rocking out and getting crazy.
Even the dude with the spinal surgery!! I think he's actually from this board come to think of it. After night 2. we met up with Kevin and Brandon and their friend from Virginia that missed the shows in DC due to a spinal surgery that he needed to have and was 8 week recovery. Whoever that dude was, we met him after night 2. That guy was hardcore. He was in the pit 8 weeks after his surgery rocking the fuck out. Kudos to that dude. (I seem to recall someone on this board writing about missing a show due to having a surgery, I swear that was him)
It feels like I secretly met a lot of people from ETS while not even knowing they were from ETS. like @halo33 for instance. Had no idea he was from here, until he told someone in line what his instagram name was, and then I saw that name post here.
I did meet @heavenly_bearded for a bit and got to sign his ETS shirt while waiting for merch. And of course, the always fabulous @zeegrizzle who we first met in London, UK of all places who was nutty enough to fly overseas this summer like we did.
NIN friends are awesome. Too bad we don't have any where we live. All you guys are the best. Vancouver is lame. Doesn't have cool people like ya'll.
Seriously, half the fun about going to a NIN show are the people you meet. And it only seems to be NIN shows that have that effect. I go to tons of shows, and the people are never as warm and welcoming as NIN fans.
Trent had the right idea all along with the physical pre-sales. Go out and meet people of similar interests. make some fucking friends. Get off social media.
I just wish I had an opportunity to do that, but there was no show in my city.

Was this from anyone on ETS? If so, thank you!
Vegas nt 2 was my 8th NIN show and one of my favorites for sure. Chatted with some folks who were nearby (3rd row in front of Robin) and NIN fans are the best. After mostly lurking these boards over the past 10 years perhaps I'll join in more, lol.
Shit. Am I really that tall? Sorry!!
This is why it’s imperative that I get rail so I can lean over and not be in anyone’s way.
Great to have met you man! Vegas was a great great time overall and now I regret not doing all the other times he’s played there.

why you gotta talk shit on @october_midnight like that?
lol, I love @october_midnight . We actually work at the same place. But we never hang out for some reason. What gives October?
He once made me buy a massive like 4-5 foot tall framed TOOL poster off of him. Now it just sits in my storage room because I have no room for it, lol.

Ah ok. I guess there were a few Canadians traveling to Las Vegas with their SO’s

This is probably a longshot, but did anyone get a Vegas shirt from night 2 in like an XL that they'd be willing to part with? I decided to sacrifice merch for a spot closer to the stage haha. WORTH IT.
