Definitely enjoyed that.
Definitely enjoyed that.
Maynard on WTF! With Marc Maron this Monday! I'm a really big fan of WTFpod and I'm reaaaally interested to see how this interview goes. I was excited when Maynard was on Joe Rogan, but this is an entirely different animal. Maron is known for being super personal and in-depth in his interviews so I'm really interested to see how Maynard responds/acts. Can't wait!
love maron, this outta be interesting!
So the remix album is up for streaming on Spin.
DVD in November and live album for black Friday (I assume for record store day.)

Almost through listening to the remix album. I dig it a lot. None of the tracks replace the originals, but some come very close. Can't wait for this and the live album.
The Oceans remix is by far my favorite. The rest are good in their own aspects but Oceans is my favorite by far.
The "Oceans" remix and the "Green Valley" remixes are jockeying for favorite for me. For different reasons.
Album now available for purchase on Puscifer.com
...shipping for the cd is $12.75 wtf.
If you're broke like me, steal it now and then wait for the CD to end up in bargain remainder bins:

So I got my local record store to order the cd, and I paid $11.50.
Not sure why Maynard wanted me to pay $24 from puscifer.com.
Also saw the deluxe Hesitation Marks in the store for $18 and felt like a bit of a chump for paying $28 from nin.com. I suppose I got to enjoy the three downloads.
Bands need to sort out this whole buying directly from them thing: an extra $10 in postage every time isn't going to work for them in the long run.
I wish where I lived places still sold CDs
Closest thing I have to a music store is Best Buy
I got a copy of "Donkey Punch..." at a local record shop in Omaha in July for 5.99, and they had stacks of them.
Donkey Punch >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Conditions
Nnnnnnnnnno.
I just got it so I wouldn't feel guilty for downloading it, that and the collector in me likes unopened CDs. But Conditions is miles better than this EP, thers is no comparison.
This was at the one on Yonge Street in downtown Toronto. I saw it in the "Imports" section listed for $14 or something, and thought to myself "hey, I wonder if I should actually buy a physical copy of this cool record I've enjoyed?" Then a cashier told me that they had more copies listed way cheaper... apparently, since they are the flagship store for the chain, they all get the OTHER import copies that have been remaindered from other outlets. Hence the crazy markdown for a not-very-common item.
Judging by Instagram, Mat Mitchell has been out in Jerome tracking with Maynard for a few days.
Maybe I misunderstand the basic mechanics of recording a live DVD/CD, but why would they be doing that in Maynard's wine cellar/living room?
Much as I hate to admit it, that is possible. Frankly, some of the best in the business do this (and when I say best, I mean musicians who have been playing for as long as Maynard has been breathing). However, I wouldn't speculate work on a live disc happening in Jerome, unless Maynard has a studio set up there for mixing.
