Spot ur NINs
I spy, with my little eye, another NIN touring member playing with Beck.

That link is weird. If I click on it, it takes me to a dead page, but if I copy and paste, it is fine.
Really happy to see that Ilan is finally being used to his full potential, though.
This link should work better.

Bit of a bizarre one here... from The Inbetweeners: Fwends Reuinited which yes, was largely awful. But anyway... in the super-fan quiz segment presenter Jimmy Carr refers to one of the contestents as 'the guy from Nine Inch Nails' - due to his long dyed black hair and black rock style clothing. https://www.channel4.com/programmes/...mand/68795-001 (around 51 mins)
Bill Leeb praising TR and AR's score work from Bird Box on fb...Interesting
In an effort to put this thread back into rails I'll share something that doesn't fit the thread.
Spotted a short film competition by Ryuichi Sakamoto in 2017, same as Ghosts in its time, but using tracks of his album "async", except he delivered with a blu-ray of a 5.1 surround version of the album and the winning short films :

Interesting thing is that his career has lots of parallels with Reznor : making albums, having great success, then making film soundtracks, working with Bowie..
edit : this post is now out of context, thank the admins lol

Where should a TR/AR-loving Ryuichi Sakamoto newbie start out?
It's different, but as good. I think The Revenant Soundtrack by him and Alva Noto might be close.
Then you got his most recent album, async which is more abstract but so fucking good. There's still piano and synths to grip on. He describes it as a soundtrack for an imaginary Tarkovsky film. And I recommend watching the documentary Coda before. This delves into the fact that he had cancer while making this album, and the soundtrack before, and his increasing concern with the state of things, considering Fukushima. He got better though, fortunately. Bonus.
Then you have one of my favorites of his, B-2 Unit, his fourth-ish album from 1980, where at some places he tries out some protoproto-industrial, still in the realm of progressive electronics. The cool thing is that at that time he can effortlessly move between very advanced synthpop (technopop) and more progressive (well, in a different way) and experimental stuff. Still rooted into japanese music. Thousand Knives is a banger. And try out some Yellow Magic Orchestra albums at some point. Solid State Survivor is from 1979 and it goes hard.
Later on it's more ambient, with Cendre, for example, a collaboration with Fennesz and a good amount of glitch.
And like with Trent, it always goes back to piano, at some point, or in some way. Lots of albums are only piano. Manipulated or not. With added synths or not. He made basically one album a year since 1978 so there's material.

To add (off-topically) to the above, all of his collaborations with Alva Noto are worth checking out. The albums 'Vrioon' and 'Insen' are good starting points. And don't forget his early synth work in Yellow Magic Orchestra - their self titled debut album and the follow up 'Solid State Survivor' are essential.
Ilan will be selling items used for NIN-touring (and other stuff!) in a Reverb shop starting on the 17th.

Super old spotting, I know, but I've stumbled on a Breaking Bad episode where Flyentology with TR's verse is playing.
The Reznor heater plant in Mercer, PA is closing.

Spotting at end of article and end of local news video.
Minor spotting but kind of cute in second to last paragraph:

On a side note: I would be totally down for a movie about Styx' Dennis DeYoung/Tommy Shaw wars. I was a Styx fan way before I was a NIN fan.
recently finished grady hendrix's third novel, We Sold Our Souls, and there are several mentions of Trent (as well as a couple of MM). very minor spotting but it's a great book (as are the other two!) and i always get excited about things like that.
Interview with the lighting designer.

Thanks for posting this! Paul Guthrie - I knew nothing about him until I read this article but I was absolutely floored by his work. He is a true master. One of the things I will always remember from the show were the lights and how they painted a complex picture of feeling around the band. I’m a visual artist but my grasp of color has nothing on him. Truly moving. Trent and Atticus chose well.
I'm 84% sure that this Linkin Park demo samples MBM remix of The Perfect Drug.
OR maybe it's just the same sample reused in both tracks, but Shinoda did recently tell that his earliest music experiences were just making remixes and mashups of his favorite bands (NIN specifically named).
Resistance flag making a cameo in High Level, the upcoming comic book series by Rob Sheridan
(once the book is out we'll have to comb through it for more easter eggs )
Boards of Canada with that hexagon I reckon (link).
Looking forward to picking up the comic - artwork and colouring look very nice.
Trent Reznor and The Hand That Feeds are mentioned for using the ARP 2600 in The New York Times today, after the passing of its creator, Alan Pearlman, at age 93.

They did use a 2600 on The Downward Spiral, which I think belonged to Flood.
