I plan on making an old-school cassette mixtape, with only songs from 1994.

The mixtape was so much fun to make back in the day. The CD mix just wasn't the same--with all the songs burning at once--the whole "labor of love" element is lost. You'd spend the whole friggin' day making those mixtapes, thinking what song to put next as you were playing the current one from CD (or radio) to tape.

Back in the 90s I made... oh... probably close to 50 tapes. Even hand-scanned (Logitech) (flat bed scanners cost real money back then) World of Darkness imagery from book to use as artwork (a precious few tapes got themselves reworked to be CD versions). CDs took a while longer for me to get into due to the prices of CD burners and blank media (and of course, using shitty quality MP3 wasn't ideal either)... but basically since 2005 I've formatted everything for either 70min or 80min depending on which I have to burn to. I make backups of my mixes and give a bunch away to local friends who aren't really into streaming (where I post everything nowadays).
I made a mixtape over the last two days. It's just for me, but the intention is to go for a ride, back to 1994. Every song is from that year, except for "Low" by Cracker, which was recorded in 1993 but was a big hit in 1994. These songs were kind of in the air, all around me when I was 14/15 years old. It was a lot of fun making the cassette tape, took me back, hadn't made one in 20 years.
Side A:
Backwater- Meat Puppets
No Excuses- Alice In Chains
House a Home- Mark Lanegan

Longview- Green Day
Sabotage- Beastie Boys
Liar- Rollins Band
Seether- Veruca Salt
Side B:
Interstate Love Song- Stone Temple Pilots
Doll Parts- Hole

I plan on making a second volume of songs from 1994 over the next few days.
In an effort to clean up my physical media collection a bit more, I've decided to remaster my mixtapes... with this one, I was able to make it all vinyl, a nice treat. I even pulled the records I had previously encoded and gave them a secondary cleaning for the best possible results (that I have at my disposal).
Yeah, that's the Natural Born Killers version of Something I Can Never Have.
A brand new mixtape for 2022!
I wanted to use all of the "TV Songs" by Ministry in order... and that bloomed into a full Ministry mixtape. Mixcloud link
another remastered one; "batcave disc 1"
To make things a lot easier on the listening side of things, I've edited the first post in the thread to have links directly to Mixcloud. It'll help keep track of things better and for those of you who don't like the Twitterbeast, this works.
Another BRAND NEW mix that had been percolating in my tiny little mind for a while... "Cereal Killer's "You can't get this in stores man..." Cyberdelia mix"

New remastered one, "batcave disc 2"
One more remastered one; "batcave disc 3"
Broken Then Reconstructed (all NIN, based around Mr Self Destruct and its remixes...)
batcave disc 4, brand new... I wanted to give the series a nice send off.
coffee on the patio vol 3. ... this one is kinda happy.
"Can't Wait For Nightfall (2022 remaster)" ... I was probably unhappy at the time.
"The Canadian Frequency (Vol. 2)" Brand new mix, inspired by remastering Vol. 1 in the series...
Damn, I should've been uploading here for a hot minute, if I'd known this thread existed.
Living 1.5 hours from reasonable healthcare, I regularly make a themed mix CD for every doctor's appointment, for the ride.
And considering my RA, epilepsy, psychiatric bullshit and chronic pain from the quintuple back break, along with my wife's gastroparesis and HER mental health stuff, well, that's a LOT of discs.
I've got about 70 in the car.
Made a quick promo for the latest mixtape...
The Canadian Frequency (Vol. 1) (2022 remaster) (alt. version)
Why the alt. version? Well, the original last song was responsible for some trauma due to overexposure in a work environment.... so I swapped with another song from the same band.
