First pics of Lady Gaga as Harley are online.
Obvious spoilers but you'll probably see them everywhere anyways. She looks pretty much exactly as you'd imagine.

That second photo...seriously? you could only find a Sears photographer for your promotional stuff?
It would be funny if the full trailer was just this scene going on, uncomfortably, for 2 minutes.

I'm already kind of outside the audience for this one but, if I was, I would be bummed to see them foregoing the "Harley as Joker's therapist" thing.
I had zero expectations for this and I'm still not sure about the casting of Gaga (whom I really liked in Gucci), but this trailer is great! I wasn't sure if I wanted to see it in the cinemas, but guess I'll go now.
literally the first thing my wife said at the end of the trailer, too. "So she's not his therapist in this one?"
The trailer was done in the style of all the recent musicals - don't let people know it's a musical - except for maybe one or two parts. I liked the imagery at the end with the smile but all I could think of at the same time was the focus pullers and the camera person moving the camera to the exact right spot and Joaquin having to smile at the exact right time...it was neat until that.
Listen, if you have to hide the fact that your movie is a musical while promoting it, don't make it a fucking musical.
Yeah, I guess we'll see how well it works when the movie comes out, but I can't help but think they should have just limited themselves to 3 or 4 songs done in the style of the dream sequence in The Big Lebowski or the daydream scene in The Shape of Water. I know it's a musical, but considering the first movie wasn't one, I feel like having 15 songs in this movie seems like a lot and I'm not so sure the general public will accept that. I have a hard time believing that most of the people that liked the first movie will be open-minded enough to enjoy a sequel that's a musical – especially when they don't advertise it as such in the trailer.

Turning it into a complete musical number was just dumb imo. I like The Big Lebowski approach, and I absolutely loathe full on musicals as it is. Eh, whatever man.
New trailer tomorrow (Tues July 23) at 6am PT. At the Warner Bros YouTube channel which is currently airing a 24hr livestream with a countdown clock. Just a shot of Murray's studio with the spotlights dancing around for now... maybe for the hardcores that sit watching it, something will happen along the way?
edit: ok yeah so as I was typing this they started testing the 'APPLAUSE!' signs and this loud ass music popped for a few seconds. Scared the shit out of me. So yeah...something's gonna keep happening lol.

The trailers keep getting better yet Gaga's nothing like how Harley Quinn works for me personally. Hope she knocks it out of the park during the actual songs which I'm sure she will. I still wonder how much musical this will end up being though as songs were only teased so far.
IGN Review
Mild spoilers contained within, they give it a Spoiler: 5/10 saying it's unfortunately not that great
They also gave the first one a 10/10, haha. I liked the first movie quite a bit, but all the vibes I'm getting have it feeling more like a movie that came out of the money it made instead of a story it wanted to tell.

I am not surprised at that score. None of the trailers or promo images have made me think anything other than "why". I just re-watched Gladiator the other day and I can't believe that this is the movie that got him to make a sequel.
The original is overrated anyway, i don't think this one will be better.
Joker: Folie a Deux is baffling, bizarre and I kind of loved it? What a complete troll of a movie and one that is actively trying to get you to hate it and piss you off. I mean this in the best possible way.
There were some things I would've done different. I think it started to crumble as soon as Arthur gained some agency in the courtroom. Spoiler: I was expecting the twist would be that his antics in court were a delusion, but then he just gets gang raped out of nowhere. I think the realization that Lee was just a rich kid playing with him like a toy, would've been enough for him to drop the act.
Kermode and Mayo thought that this is better of the two films. I'll probably wait till it's streaming or something.
