The only effective inhalation masks are N95s which you can't make and you can't find, because they are now highly restricted to hospitals.
So, go ahead and make a mask from a towel.
Etsy has lots of fun crafty homemade masks, but they won't arrive in time for your appointment. Again, just use anything you can wrap around your face. NOTHING except an N95 will really protect you from inhalation of the fine aerosols of C-19. The only other thing that will protect you is staying 6' away, don't touch your face (it doesn't transmit via skin, only via mucous membranes: eyes, nose, mouth), and wash your hands with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds). Masks are to protect OTHERS from YOU, and to provide at least a modicum of protection for yourself.
