EXCLUSIVE GLIMPSE OF BOWIE'S 2023 ALBUM!
EXCLUSIVE GLIMPSE OF BOWIE'S 2023 ALBUM!
LOL so good. As for the no physical release, I'd assume it'll be done eventually but who knows. I just pray he's reconsidering touring.
This would have been a better cover, but then again, who am I to argue with David Bowie? He's fucking David Bowie.
I originally thought that was it...you're right, that image is amazing.
any new music from bowie is good news, but yeah, that cover art is ridiculous. Good thing it doesn't matter that much.
I like the new song. I can't deal with the video though... I have an issue with seeing lyrics while I'm hearing them for the first time. His voice sounds very different from anything I've heard him on before. It works with the song though, even if it is a surprising departure.
Agreed. I like the melancholic frailty of his voice in the new track...I'm super pumped to hear the rest.
will he ever top this though? not sure
The image with the grey square looks like it could be Michael Fassbender.
There's a 1997 documentary called Inspirations, directed by Michael Apted, that features Bowie and the face-projection thing. It's a good doc.... also features Dale Chihuly, Roy Lichtenstein, Tadao Ando, Louise LeCavalier, Edouard Lock, and Nora Narano-Morse.
Anyway, here's the Bowie segment:
Happy Birthday to David Bowie and Happy Birthday to us fans...almost 10 years since Reality came out.
Had to register finally after this great news! Been stoked all day.
Here is a really cool interview with Visconti... mentions a lot of things including that the album is more "rock" than the single lets on.

From the new Rolling Stone. It's funny because it's true.

Amazon has a preorder up for a physical copy. So, I doubt it is an iTunes exclusive (though digital exclusive is possible).

What was david bowie working on in 2008? I was working at apple then, and I helped his guitarist multiple times with some stuff. He said they were in Westlake recording stuff...
did it never get released?
David Bowie (Official)
EXCLUSIVE JIMMY KING BOWIE BIRTHDAY PHOTOGRAPH
"Photograph King, watches you go..."
Here's another treat from Jimmy King...an exclusive photograph of David Bowie taken while having lunch at a Japanese restaurant yesterday.
Now that is the look of a man at peace with himself having just heard about some of the reaction to yesterday's announcements...possibly.
Isn't it lovely that we are being spoilt so rotten on Bowie's birthday?
I've been saying for years that he was un-officially semi-retired. The die-hard fanbase thinks his health went south. There is some justification for this due to ['evidence'] over the last decade. Nevertheless I really thought that the appropriate "Bring Me the Disco King" was the last we were gonna hear from him. Thank science that he has re-emerged. I do so hope it is w/ Garson & Dorsey in tow.
Also, for of those who didn't know, his lost 2001 album, Toy, was leaked many moons back. Tis the missing link twixt 'hours...' and "Heathen". Essential for the rabid fanatics...and humanity in general.
Welcome back to this earthly plane, good duke.

You mean this guitarist? Great interview with lots of info in that link.
As far as I know, 2008 doesn't really fit in this album's recording timeline, based on what we know, so perhaps there was something else being worked on in LA.
I believe i actively dislike the album cover. Which prolly goes to show how db breaks even MY expectations. So kudos to him for crushing the usual traditions. I prefer my album covers to provoke a unique emotional reponse towards the content within. It does that but not the way i am used to. A MS paint of the heroes cover is kinda infuriating. I hate to hate it. But i love to hate hating it. Damn you, bowie! So continues the db fanatics emotional turmoil. He hasnt missed a beat in the past decade.
Is it just me or does that new pic of Bowie make him look like an action figure?
It looks like it's been airbrushed to within an inch of its life. He looks like a paper delivery boy in the 1920s.
Ever study the Dada movement? Maybe it's a big fuck you to album cover art. You know, like Fountain by Duchamp was anti-art. Like the White Album. (Or "Smell the Glove.")
Speaking of visual arts, I like the odd visuals in the video.
