The album has a lot of really great moments, and songs. It gets a little boring and samey at times. As a casual fan who stopped paying attention after Frances The Mute, I enjoy this album.

I went in expecting something like QOTSA's Villains and instead got something that feels like a fusion of psychedelic, latin and, well, yacht rock. And, yes, Cedric's vocals are way too high in the mix, and the whole thing sounds hollow and, at times, even lacks bass. It's not bad, but I don't know if I'll be coming back to it that often. I get what they were trying to do, though. Tracks like Equus 3 and Graveyard Love could have been outright bangers if they were produced with a bit less restraint and some more flashiness and moxie.

Plus, to counter Cedric's words, I wouldn't say that this album "slaps hard", or that hip hop producers would be rushing to sample it any time soon.
