I think it’s a bit much for Corey Feldman to jump on this for attention when from what he says he was clearly being mocked rather than abused, cruel yes but not abuse IMO

I don’t even know what’s being implied here, but like with most things in life, I would prefer Corey Feldman’s involvements to be kept to a minimum
Yeah, Corey has clearly experienced abuse in the industry and I won't discount that at all.
But as soon as he started talking I was like; "Corey, not now bud."
Maybe that's mean and discounting somebody's experience or something. But I just know that his chiming in only makes people believe his victims less, not more. That being said, I do remember Manson jumping on one of Corey's Instagram live stories and it was obviously an attempt to bully Corey, and Corey took the bait immediately and got upset. Manson was weirdly obsessed with being shitty to Feldman. It was high school bully shit.
mocking someone is bullying which is just another word for abuse. it fits the pattern is all i’m saying.
...and Corey Feldman is such low-hanging fruit really. But so is Marilyn Manson in a lot of ways, so I guess it all makes sense there.
Can we have these women star in their own music video where they do to MM the equivalent of what he has done to them? Let’s turn the tables a bit on this pencil-necked fuckhead.
I check ebay fairly frequently for interesting nin bits, and it's often the case that people selling Manson stuff mention nin in the title, I guess so that it gets a little more exposure. So, my searches typically bring up a certain amount of Manson stuff. Anyway, I've noticed in the past couple of days that more Manson stuff than usual is coming up. Initially I figured it was just record dealers and flippers trying to sell what they could now before the current situation results in a drop in demand and they have to sell for less later. But now I'm seeing what are clearly personal collections popping up (some huge) - I guess fans are checking out.
Corey Feldman........LMAO
Same guy who was running a sex cult a few years ago. I've talked to a few of the girls who were in his cult on fb. The stories they told about him would make Manson blush
Yep. Sigh.
Shit like this gets me bummed & struggling with my own fandom...the whole separating art from the artist thing. The sheer audacity of the lyrics of Irresponsible was one of the biggest things that attracted me to Manson when i was in HS. This, 1996 & Reflecting God especially helped me find my voice & shape my worldview before I discovered hardcore, which I then grafted onto bc it was more real and down to earth. Manson's image & theatrics were fine and had their place, but I wanted to keep it at arm's length as I grew up. Sucks that basically all this stuff has to get tossed in one way or another.
If the more mature Brand New material (Devil & God) had come out in the mid to late 90's & helped me manage internal emotional struggles like it did for so many people younger than me, I would have the same struggle with excising them from my life too after Jesse Lacey's foul behavior got out.
From the same Twitter account, an update on this.
TW: anti-semitism.
The nazi stuff lines up with rumors I'd heard... Again though, I guess I just chalked that up to him being an edgelord.
I'm honestly REALLY surprised that you guys are burning your records or whatever.
I do NOT see how any of this stuff is, like, new?
Anyway, as far as separating art from artist: you guys like Bowie, right?
Fucked fourteen year old girls: check.
Into Nazi shit: check.
Idk. People are really fucked up.
Sometimes I think that people think we're WAY more evolved, as a species, than we actually are.
Edit: I'm not excusing the behavior. don't get me wrong. it's just that, again, yeah...none of this shit surprises me.

Speaking personally, while I've tuned out of MM in the past few years, I didn't think what he was saying was literally true 100% of the time - I think that's fair enough. Otherwise, I am also to assume he is an alien, etc
Have to say I missed the vote where we all unanimously declared our uncritical love for Bowie.
But yes, people definitely need to look into these things a bit more, and stop brushing things off. In future we have to be sure, people with power and money so rarely deserve the benefit of the doubt
@Sutekh , I'd wager that most serious nin fans have at least some appreciation for Bowie.
At any rate-
I just...this whole thing: did people think the whole book was made up? And that was in, what, '98? That was a purported autobiography, about the man's life and ideology. He wasn't pretending to be an alien then.
But, idk. I guess it DOES come down to separating art from artist.

This has nothing to do with groupie shit from decades ago though, this is what he's doing now - do you think someone should be able to lock women in rooms or starve and beat them? Because that's what this outing is about. the crap from his book only came up as a tangent to say society abetted a monster, its nothing to do with ERW or anyone else who recently came out, they were cases of domestic violence. Also he was there upskirting women at festivals very recently.
Anyway I always hated Manson and don't have any albums or content of his to throw away

My argument is that it's all the same type of shit, and, again, I don't get why anyone is surprised. MARILYN MANSON did some more sick, twisted shit. I don't understand how that's a big shocker to anyone.
That's all.
The "crap from the book" isn't news. The man has a LONG history of accusations of various sorts of sick behavior, dating back 20 years, not to mention, the sick shit he BRAGGED about in 98.
With me, it's that ANYONE would be shocked that, out of all the people in the world, THAT dude did some MORE shit that was fucked up.

??? I don't get your argument that this is the same shit from the 90s, its much worse. Have you watched Evan Rachel Wood's testimony? And from what's come out, hes still doing it. Do you think he shouldn't be stopped just because we should have known about it? Honestly he's a psycho and should be in prison. The Provider Module forum is now 'closed for maintenance' so if even they have realised there's a problem, I don't know what to say
And Esme Bianco

I can't speak for everyone, but I know that for myself I was in Junior High when that book came out. A lot of us were still kids when we first read it. At the time, I didn't believe most of it was true (and still believe that a lot of it is bullshit). But even the parts I did believe were true, I didn't really have the maturity to understand what sort of story it was telling about Manson other than "OMG, what a crazy rock star."
By the time I had become an adult I had mostly lost interest in Manson as a figure/person even though I still loved the older music and some of his newer releases. I totally forgot about the details of the book until I re-read it again recently amid these allegations brewing.
Rereading it with a critical adult eye was definitely an experience. It leaves me sort of angry and sad. Part of my anger isn't even directed at Manson, but at a society who chose the absolute dumbest shit to attack him for in the 90's while ignoring some of the actual problems with the stories he told.
I remember lots of politicians, advocacy groups, churches etc. absolutely losing their minds over his outfits and lyrics. As if a creepy contact lens and calling yourself the Antichrist was the worst thing in the world. But the way he claims to have treated women in the book wasn't really a focus for most of the controversy in the 90's. And I feel like the constant outrage porn generated at that time sort of contributed to a lot of people ignoring the problem signs for so long. You can only accuse a guy of being responsible for so many school shootings, suicides and Satanic cults before people just stop listening to any criticism at all. Even if it's fair criticism.
Anyway, I'm not gonna be burning any records or anything. Seems wasteful to me. But I'm not going to give him any money in the future or wear his merch in public. I only have like two very old shirts left anyhow.
The thing here is, I ALREADY felt lame giving him money and buying his new album... in a "oh Jesus, I'm 40 and I'm buying a fucking Marilyn Manson album" kind of way.
Then all this comes out and, I dunno, I just don't want it around. Maybe since Loma Vista has dropped him, vinyl copies will become valuable, and I'll regret cracking the record in half and throwing it in the trash. Still, I'm sure I'll live with the decision.
For me it's not that i'm surprised he was a creep, i was only a casual MM fan but have known people who worshiped him, so the creep stuff is "yeah that checks out" and was largely why i never wanted to get into his music more as the years went on, it's the levels of depravity that is surprising me and possibly many others. We knew he wasn't right, we didn't realize how much of a monster he truly was and still is!
Also while some people can learn from their past mistakes and make themselves better people (doesn't excuse behavior but it's the least they can do!) MM apparently had no intention of being better and just got worse. Fuck him!
Fuck him! Agreed.
Speaking of things feeling a whole shit-ton creepier:
Has there been any other statements from past collaborators either in support of the abused or sharing perspective or impression of him? Didn't he work with Lady Gaga on something? She's usually pretty vocal about this kind of stuff.
Lady Gaga has a spotty record on this sort of thing actually, and I’m not sure why. She was very slow to deal with the response to the duet she did with R Kelly, even though there was plenty of evidence that he was an asshat before that documentary dropped. She did eventually pull the song and made a statement, but it was not exactly a swift response IMO.
I doubt you’ll see many people of her stature say anything about it, because as far as I can tell Manson knows better than to try and pull that sort of shit with people who have more power than he does, or people who are tougher than him (OTEP for instance). Norman R. seemed genuinely bewildered by the accusations on Twitter, and I am not surprised that Manson watched his conduct a little more closely around a dude who is a huge TV star. Same with Sharon Osbourne, who stated that Manson had always been respectful to her. And in my head I’m like “no shit Sharon, you are an incredibly powerful woman in rock music who basically ran the festival he regularly toured with.”
Anyway, point being that he seems to reserve his abuse for people with less social clout/power. Bullies tend to kiss the asses of people more important than them, and treat everyone a rung below themselves like shit.

Yeah, I don't really think I'm going to be able to decipher all this bullshit behavior, but I am not going to ask Lady Gaga why she made that shitty song with him. She seems like a good person, and I would imagine the nature of what is being talked about here would upset her. I'm surprised she hasn't said something condemning him, or to at least support the accusers.
That's the disturbing part now, that people either didn't notice or couldn't look past the gimmick to take such things seriously. 20 years a woman could have come out with these accusations towards him, and most everyone would give it at least a minute's thought towards being a publicity stunt. We didn't have the amplification of social media to help support victims like that, and they would have been crucified either by his fan base or the media for even being associated with him.
