Side note.... The Woman in the Window was originally going to be scored by Trent and Atticus, but was ultimately was scored by Danny Elfman.

The whole Big Mess album is great, but the new version of Insects is kicking my ass lately.
interesting interview with Trent & Danny:

OMG I had forgotten that Danny used to do his concerts barefoot!
“I think I'm trying to come to terms with what felt like a year of despair, but it focused on an existential threat of the virus. Now it's utter resentment towards a segment of the population. I'm fed up, and I'm angry — not at the virus anymore. I'm pissed off at a virus, but I'm furious at my neighbors. I also have five young kids and I'm really trying to make a concerted effort to turn off the valve of information coming in, and focus on the moment and what's happening under the roof here. So I find it uplifting to kind of immerse myself in the struggles of Peppa Pig.”
- Trent Reznor, 2021
What am I supposed to do?
I lost my boots because of you
That’s got the Peppa Pig theme stuck in my head now, it’s so simple but insanely catchy
I'm so glad this collaboration came out because it's got me to listen to the actual Oingo Boingo albums outside of Boingo (not to be confused with BOI-NGO), the Anthology, and Farewell, both of which I didn't really ever listen to. My wife is at the point where last night while making dinner and Dead Man's Party came on I heard "oh come on, again?!" from the living room.
Anyway, great albums all 'round. Though I wonder at how "Capitalism" is a "50 greatest conservative rock song".The National Review named "Capitalism" as one of the "50 greatest conservative rock songs."[12] It is featured in the 2005 film Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room.
I’d never ever heard of Oingo Boingo in the 80s and I was wondering why, and when I looked up their wiki discography it only mentions charting in USA and Australia. Did they just not promote or do anything internationally?

Christ - the poor man is doing worse that we thought. He has to use PEPPA F-ING PIG to escape the world around him. As a parent to two that managed to avoid PP at ALL costs - he needs to choose a better path! Paw Patrol, PJ masks, Miraculous, Lego Ninjago - THOMAS AND FRIENDS?!?
Anything but that snorting pink abomination.
No wonder he's pissed off! Though - it might him to release something that makes Broken or Fixed look like a pop album....
lol
Jesus Christ how I wish I could hear this.
Note: For anyone looking to get into the awesomeness of Oingo Boingo - and bonus for people who still pick up CDs - Rubellan Remasters just did Only A Lad, Nothing To Fear, Good For Your Soul and Dead Man's Party. Bonus tracks too; first time the initial Oingo Boingo EP's ever been available on CD IIRC.
Rubellan also did an LP repress of Only A Lad that sold out like wildfire, and plans to do the other three albums as well, but it's a lengthy process.
I read on the Stevehoffman forums the remasters are phenomenal - waiting for mine to arrive.
Speaking of, my son won't give me my Only a Lad vinyl back so I can listen to it. lol
Sounds like you are raising the boy right! I helped raise my goddaughter & I think I did a pretty good job. She's 29 now & generally has pretty good taste in tunes with the occasional detour into stuff like Mumford & Sons. She liked the Who & Bob Dylan especially from a young age. I made sure she saw both of them. She was lucky & got real good shows from both of them (Dylan twice).
I worked the door at a New Wave / Punk bar in Detroit on the weekends from 1982-83, and I’d play this song on the jukebox
ALL
THE
TIME
And then there’s this version

Oh
My
God
There’s an alternate world where Danny never stopped doing Oingo Boingo and solo stuff and I’m kinda annoyed I don’t live in it. He could have been like Numan or Bowie. Ah well.

"# Native Intelligence (feat. Trent Reznor)"
Wonder what the hash means and the track not having a number? Digital only?
Hmm. So I pre-ordered the Deluxe Box Set before there were all these details, back in August. Paid $174 before shipping... Anyone else order this before all the details were announced?
I did as well.

Here they have it listed as a normal track...I think it was just a typo on Danny's website. Got mine pre-ordered too.
