Pacific Rim 2 shelved. GDT just can't catch a break.
Pacific Rim 2 shelved. GDT just can't catch a break.
I think GDT's Hobbit movie(s) are one of recent cinema's greatest could-have-beens. He'd have been such a perfect fit, and the shit we ended up with instead.... Ugh. :/
Happy incept date, folks.
Denis Villeneuve (director of Prisoners, Enemy, Sicario, among others) directing, Roger Deakins (a list too long to name) as the DP, starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, Ridley Scott involved in the screenplay -- I don't know, maybe it's unnecessary, but if it was ever going to happen, I couldn't think of a better team working on it. I can't help but get excited seeing those names all attached.
Oh god.
Well, they're obviously taking great liberties...but OMFG I officially thought it MIGHT be an adaptation of the J.G. Ballard classic 7 seconds in and FUCK YEAH it DELIVERED.
Reallllly looking forward to this one!
XD
hot fucking damn. i can not wait to see that.
@Hazekiah do you think i should read the book before or after i see the film?
also, glad someone let a comment on the youtube page telling me what the music in the trailer was because it was fantastic.
There are some stuff only implied in the book so we'll see how far the movie will take it. It's a quick read so I would suggest reading it before the movie.
Yeah, I'd definitely suggest reading the book first.
As mentioned, it's a pretty brisk read. One lazy afternoon should pretty much do it!
You'll either be high-fiving the movie for including EVERYTHING or else understanding what it's left out, so it's basically a WIN/WIN.
Also, anyone who hasn't seen Cronenberg's Crash yet should REALLY check it out...
Btw, the movie will be available first on demand via iTunes, amazon, etc. April 28th then theaters May 13th.
Hey, there's a new game that is about Leo getting his Oscar: http://redcarpetrampage.com/
Watch out for Lady Gaga.
Fifty Shades of Shit and Un-Fantastic Four tied for Worst Film at the Razzies as the former won big with 5 Razzies including Worst Screenplay, Worst Actor, Worst Actress, and Worst On-Screen Duo: http://www.goldderby.com/news/11884/...375916482.html
I like King's response to the criticisms about the casting choice for Roland.
I'm really curious to see how they're going to tackle starting from "somewhere in the middle" without devolving into a clusterfuck of flashbacks or outright ignoring large parts of the story. Unless the "middle" is from the second book onwards. I can see the first book being done in flashbacks or expositional dialogue, but anything more than that...I don't know. Anyway, happy that this is happening, this series has great cinematic potential.
Flagg isn't even that big character in the books, imho. YES I KNOW he serves as a primary antagonist, but at some points you can go through 1000 pages and he won't be even mentioned once, let alone actually take part in the events. I thought Eddie should've been the second most important character, but I guess TV executives think otherwise.
A truly fascinating account of being on a Terrence Malick set from Thomas Lennon, Joe Lo Truglio, and Nick Kroll (!!!) of all people. Anyone else as excited for Knight of Cups as I am?
I'm skeptical. Reviews are very mixed so far.
Years in the making...it's finally happening. a.k.a. "Please don't fuck this up."
Cast and director officially locked in. Script done. Production begins shortly on Beetlejuice 2.
