THAT MADE ME WAY MORE GIDDY THAN IT SHOULD HAVE. I had to stop and go back. Such a cool little touch that makes me wanna see this that much more.
I never finished the anime, and I haven't see any movies, but between what I've seen of the franchise and this trailer, I'm actually pretty stoked about this, and hope that it's gonna pave the way for other anime adaptations.
I meant to post this here, but I forgot

“We’re not doing Puppetmaster. It’s not Laughing Man. It involves Kuze. The Kuze story. The big thing we are doing here is that we’re not necessarily doing an origins backstory, but we are addressing her sense of self and resolving how she defines herself in terms of memories. That’s one of the main thrusts in the story. Inspired by that episode of Affection in Second Gig. It’s bits and pieces of those mixed together.”

Tarsem Singh, on TV? I'll give that one a try for sure!
Legendary Entertainment has acquired the rights to Frank Herbert’s Dune
And of course there is talks of a new movie. *sighs*
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
I just came in here to post this news.
What's wrong with remaking the film into a new film series with updated visuals and even possibly a T.V. series?
There is so much source material that one film isn't enough to cover everything.
It wont replace the old film, its still available, albeit not the long cut of it, but its still out there.
I for one welcome and anticipate it, and I remain hopeful that it will be faithful to the novel.
Unless Alejandro Jodorowsky is going to direct it, I don't care about it.
It has already been made into a tv series:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0142032/?ref_=nv_sr_3
It was followed by Children of Dune (which comprises Dune Messiah and CoD)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0287839/?ref_=tt_rec_tt
The Dune mini series was even worse than the movie (I love the movie, by the way but many, many don't). It's totally laughable. Children of Dune is much better but they had the genius of casting the then unknown James McAvoy as Leto II (the twins were made into young adults) and they also had Susan Sarandon and Alice Krige, who never disappoint.
Oh I knew about that abhorrent T.V. Series which is why I'd like to see a new one made to replace it from existence.
The movie was great at what it did at the time but, now it is outdated and in need of a remake in my opinion.
The first novel alone is so dense and rife with such a staggering amount of story that one movie can't do it proper justice, hence a properly made T.V. series or film series.
If they did split it into two or more movies that actually stays close to the source material I'll be fine with that.
What I don't want is for whomever is in charge is to make it into a series that is padded out for the sake of elongating the story just like they did for The Hobbit.
As a side note, I don't care for the prequels that wasn't written by Frank Hurbert.
A couple of interesting little news:
Nobody can figure out who owes the rights to Buckaroo Banzai
MGM wants to make a tv series but there's that question of the rights. My theory is that Dr Lizardo owes them or they are in another dimension that's only accessible through the watermelon that was intriguing New Jersey.
Also: Daniel Brühl and Luke Evans cast as the leads in TNT's The Alienist
Based on the Caleb Carr's novel, of course.
I'm totally squealing right now.
Official trailer for The Mummy: Impossible
Oh wait, it's Sully. Nope, it's X-Men First Class and Apocalypse. I so cannot stand Tom Cruise.
But I'll see it because of the fantastic Sofia Boutella and because of Russell Crowe. And because it's the launch of the Universal Monsters film series.
I ain't seeing that shit. It looks like the same fucking movie Tom Cruise has been making for the past 15 years. And Russell Crowe should never be a second banana to Tom Cruise.
I wonder, because this is going to be part of the same cinematic universe, if Crowe is going to be like Samuel L. Jackson in the Marvel movies. Very odd watching that trailer that he doesn't get top billing, unless it's for that reason.
I think it's very possible that Crowe's Dr Jekyll is going to be the Nick Fury of the universe. That's the vibe I get too. The non top billing thing is a clue (I think) and there's also the fact that Dr Jekyll doesn't get his own movie in the planned series. And I wonder how Mr Hyde is going to fit in there.
Universal Monsters (shared universe)
And Johnny Depp as the Invisible Man? Okaaayyy...
Double post because I'm not feeling well (it's my reason and I'm sticking to it)
Here's the teaser we've all been waiting for:
SHIT JUST GOT REAL, BITCHES!
Oh snap they removed the video because someone, evidently, cannot handle how awesome it is. So here's the link:
You don't mess with Scrooge McDuck!
Looks beautiful.
Amazon to stream Robert Stack's Unsolved Mysteries episodes with new updates
Hell yeah hell yeah hell yeah!
Time to listen to the series' creepy theme song again:
Just because I have this part of the board just to myself:
@thevoid99 Look who's going to be the new voice of Scrooge McDuck
I'm going to be all over this
I'm more excited about Kate Micucci as Webby.
I also love Ben Schwartz's enthusiasm in the video. He looks like a kid in a candy store!
And of course they were going to get a Scot to voice a Scottish duck! I so can't wait. And I can't stop singing that song.
