I don’t do twitter haha - clearly why I didn’t know about this. Sorry about that!

^ Wow, I didn't realize he'd started busting that sucker out for "Sin" on the last tour.

I have never even HEARD about that "Anthrax" cover. Did they post that officially anywhere?

I searched a lot for the good angle of it, only to realize he stopped doing this part after two performances in Chicago. Same with Ahead of Ourselves ending, he stopped doing that somewhere along the way.

Nope, there are only audience videos

TR was briefly interviewed about his work on Quake in this Wired article on the jumping ("hup") noise in video games. A highlight:

I remember just laughing, you know, because it was absurd to have a mic and have another guy sitting there just going ‘HUMPH, HURNK, HURP,’

Trent & Atticus got a Grammy (it was a tie) last night (with Jon Batiste) for "Soul". Well deserved. I hope the 2 parties have a chance to work together again sometime. Obviously coming from different places but they worked together well for "Soul".

That score won a Grammy, a Golden Globe, AND an Oscar. Pretty impressive!

Kind of a double Depeche Mode/TR spotting from Richard of Emigrate/Rammstein. @WingWalker, did you read this before?

    https://rammwiki.net/wiki/A_Million_Degrees_(song)

There are two songwriters in the world that I admire. One is called Martin Gore, whose band Depeche Mode influenced this track, and the other is Trent Reznor. Whenever Martin writes music, I feel really close to it, almost as if I could have written it myself. I definitely wish I could have written those songs because I really feel them. I’ve met him a couple of times, he’s such an adorable person. We’re now talking about doing a song together, which is something that has been on my list for quite a while. It’s going to be really interesting to hear him and me on the same track…

I'm sure this was posted in 2018, but I've avoided it until now.

And I'm sure SOME of you haven't seen it.

And GOOD GOD, I wish I'd seen it sooner.

This is my favorite NIN related cover since Trent covered Hurt by Johnny Cash.

@elevenism not hating on this but I just can’t get into it. It seems like it’s just one step above Richard Cheese. I’m not really sure it works. But I Do admire their effort.

    Really? And @GibbonBlack too?

Shit I thought it was pretty badass.
That being said, I REALLY like PMJ and Puddles in general.
I could see where if you didn't dig PMJ, you might see everything they do as one step above Richard Cheese.

I'd suppose that off-the-wall stuff like this isn't for everyone.

Very short NIN mention from Ralf Dietel, who was very briefly hired for W_T-era NIN lineup before being replaced by Aaron North. (Dietel's name did show up in the news back in the day). I was hoping for some interesting story, but it's just mentioned almost in passing. Starts at 11:56

On this week’s Kingcast episode (a Stephen King podcast), the guests were the show runners from Yellowjackets (Bart Nickerson and Ashley Lyle) and about 1hr 33 mins in, they’re asked about using a Nine Inch Nails song in season 2 (Co host Scott Wampler is a huge fan). They are not only very favorable to the idea but Ashley says she’s heard TR is a fan of the show and expressed interest in being involved musically somehow. That last part is not confirmed but they want to figure out if it is true.

Not a 2022 spotting, but I was today years old when I learned Page Hamilton of Helmet stayed at TR's house in New Orleans while he was recovering from a divorce, had his own mini setup in the studio where he learned some computer production techniques, and may have added a riff or two to The Fragile:

Edit: Seems to corroborate some of this: https://www.nin.wiki/Page_Hamilton

My mum text me to say they played Memorabilia on BBC 6Music (UK Radio) as Mark Almond (Soft Cell) was on.

Reckon they did an edit of it? Haha

don't know if this has been posted, apologies if it has, but here's a 2 hour interview of Danny Lohner with Cevin Key of Skinny Puppy. fun tidbits: Trent was inspired by Tom Waits "Bone Machine" while making the Fragile, Somewhat Damage was different and done along with The Perfect Drug, and that Somewhat Damage was the first song recorded for the Fragile. Danny had the original version of Somewhat Damaged somewhere but may not have it anymore..

Just thought I'd have a listen to this - pretty much the full track here, which is nice. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0016rmc
Marc goes on to briefly talk about his admiration for Trent, even mentioning the Sex Dwarf cover!

Was just watching the AppleTV+ show Roar, which is this semi-surreal feminist show that is, disappointingly, not particularly good. But, there's an episode in which a murderous incel has a NIN poster on his wall. A poster for the "Furious Bites Tour".

Weirdly, I imagine they would have had to get clearance to use the NIN logo on the fake poster.
