So we're nearly a week out from the latest season. it's pretty much known it's about the Lost Colony of Roanoke, NC (my state ). Should be different. I'll watch it.
i can't fucking wait
So i read this article that says that a lot of the promos for season 6 are like misdirects.
They are also saying that this season is going to be totally different and not follow the same formula.
Episode one is tonight, right?
I heard that it was The Mist. Last trailer made me think maybe that is true.
How good was that. A return to just flat out horror...loved it.
I really liked the feel of that first episode. Good, full of dread scares. I am a bit bummed that they went with the "docu-style" where we're left already knowing these people are talking about past events and obviously survived all of them to tell us about it.
Awkward story telling, it took me quite a few to figure out what the fuck was going on with those side off interviews. The episode plodded along slow but had me at the final 10 minutes with that cliffhanger ending.
I felt the same way, took me a bit to figure out who the "actors" were vs who the "real" people were.
That being said, imho, the episode felt far more like a horror episode compared to anything in the past few seasons.
I am certainly wondering how some of the other actors are going to fit into this story, but so far - so good.
Even though they kept talking in the first person and would say something happened, and then it'd get shown immediately after?
My theory is that the 'main' story will end at about episode 8 or 9 and then there will be another 'episode' that will be a return to Roanoke. Cue bloodbath. AHS likes twists such as this.
I'm also hoping we get more solid connections from Asylum/Freak Show into the plot line.
Loved the first episode. Showed great promise. The documentery style didn't bother me.
We'll see what the next couple episodes bring to the table. AHS has a tendency to fuck things up.
Show has been renewed for a seventh season.
This season has been okay so far. It's not great TV but it's still better than the last couple seasons.
So the last episode seems like an ending.
I think that the narrative will continue with the same characters in the present.
My wife thinks a different, interconnected story is about to begin.
And for the record, i fucking love the documentary style.
Dollars to donuts that we're now switching to behind the scenes of My Roanoke Nightmare.
Spoiler: Good call, @slave2thewage ! my guess was that the family would go back to the house for some reason, that we would be brought up to the present somehow, but i never thought of the "behind the scenes" angle. Between our two predictions, we figured it out :P . I really dug Chapter 6 and feel like this whole avant garde meta "behind-the-scenes-of-the-sequel-to-a-show-within-a-show" twist is a great fucking idea. I just really hope they pull it off.
@elevenism I also like what they did there. Good way to keep the show interesting.
Ryan Murphy has stated that season 7 will be directly connected to Freak Show and that an upcoming season will be a sequel to Coven and feature characters from the first season. Huh.
This show is becoming a little too brutal for my liking.
yeah @slave2thewage i didn't see your original prediction.
goddamn. you nailed it.
and i agree, this is the best season in a long ass time
The sacrifice scene may have been the most disturbing thing I have ever seen on a TV show.
