I don't remember where I read it, but I remember David Lynch saying Lost Highway was inspired by the concept of a fugue state.

Looks like Mulholland Drive is getting the Criterion treatment. Pre-ordering that shit as soon as they let me.
Watched Fire Walk With Me last night, criminally underrated movie. Maybe not among Lynch fans, but I genuinely can't believe it was so panned critically. Sort of blows my mind, especially since the last episode of Twin Peaks wasn't exactly a walk in the park either.
I dig David Lynch and I just barely found out about his coffee. Has anyone here tried it or heard much about it?
I think it was panned because it was a stylistic turning point for Lynch and people didn't know what to think of it.
These days people find it easier to place FWWM in context with Lynch's other work because they can see how the style on display matured into Lost Highway/Mulholland Drive/Inland Empire.
All those comments in the comment section make me facepalm. "OH MY GOD, DAVID! STOP EXPRESSING YOURSELF THROUGH MUSIC, AND MAKE A FILM!" David doesn't have any ideas. He's said this countless times in interviews. He's doing the music thing to keep himself busy while he waits for an idea.
I want a new movie too, but im not complaining if he wants to do music right now...
New track: "Are you sure"
i like his music. it's got an interesting electronic-tinged blues sound to it. i could do without the heavy processing on most of his vocals, but at least it's not auto-tune. some of the songs are soothing, some are weird, and a couple are creepy as hell. (i'm just speaking of his first album, i haven't heard the new one, yet)
It has "something" that makes it special like most of his work...
The music is minimal most of the times and bases itself on an idea repeated over but that's it's charm!
I think Lynch i able to say a LOT with little musical resources and that's why i like his work ...just feels honest and pure.
Also if you're a fan of the films, the music it's very "referential" to some of the situations in his movies and i even consider that his musical work extends his "movie universe".

Yep, David Lynch pretty much makes me feel like a sloth.
Bahaha i love when he swears in this vid!
Both Lynch and Woody Allen put me into shame...
"Get your frogs out and your fish. You gotta have 'em ready. You gotta have a better, system."

That clip is full of classics ^^
Awesome video interview with Jennifer Lynch!
She talks about the secret Diary of Laura Palmer and his dad's movie projects that never came to be...
New album streaming on Pitchfork:

Listening right now, i really like it!
Definitely the sequel for "Crazy Clown Time" (but even more experimental in various sounds), im buying this one as soon it crosses my path...
Funny, yesterday i saw "Crazy Clown Time" on vinyl and i asked myself the same question (also i already have it on CD)
I think ANYTHING by David is highly collectible and i understand if you want to spend 30 buck on a Vinyl, or just spend 10 bucks on the download...
I listened to the album twice, i can tell it's "bluesier" and more "Guitar-based", i think it will grow on me even more, gotta say the album is more accesible than CCT and you can listen to it from top to bottom even in your work...
The vocoder effect on David's voice in The Sun Can't Be Seen No More might be one of the most hilarious things I've ever heard.
I never knew I needed David Lynch to sing the phrase "Last call" more than I know now.
Today i watched "Wild at heart" on VHS... it was glorious!!!
A nice interview with Lynch, shot after the release of Eraserhead -

Holy crap, he was so young!
Saw this at a local indie record shop. The owner said they used to have an original Eraserhead poster, and that a woman made this in exchange for it. So fucking awesome.
Holy fucking shit! Talkin' 'bout collectibles!!!
A prized possession.
I don't own any significant piece of Lynch memorabilia... just the movies in multiple formats... someday i'll have the panties he chewed! lol
EDIT. Cool Video i found Today:
