Not bad but nothing outstanding.

I love the guitar in it.

Honestly, I was over Slipknot. Maybe I outgrew them.
So I wasn't expecting much, but it sounds fresh yet in a familiar way if that makes sense.
I am curious about the rest of the album now.

Did a bit of digging and found this, it's translated from Portuguese from an interview Corey did on a BBC Radio Show.

The album will come out in October, along with Knotfest, but only the name of the album will be announced in two weeks.Corey also reveals that "The Negative One" is not a single but a gift for the fans.The single, "The Devil in I" will be recorded clip in a week or two and will be a bit more melodic and very heavy.The album in general have the most popular songs they have worked, are complex and very good.

Not a fan of this video. The song is still great and every time I listen to The Negative One I like it more and more, but this video is lacking. The imagery is cool for the first minute or two and then it just drags. There's still a chance I'm wrong, but it's quite obvious we're getting two albums. Two severed goat heads (the opening where she pulls back the dirty white sheet and reveals the altar actually got my heart pounding with excitement), two girls doused in black and white, the end symbol; the band is being straightforward in the weirdest way possible.

Is it just me or do the verses sound like copied form Disasterpiece?
Video's not bad though, some cool images here and there. I expected something worse. Who knows maybe I'll give the album a try even, which I can't force myself to with All Hope is Gone.

It'll make sense until later this month when they announce a single album and there's absolutely no mention of a second CD, subsequently making me feel silly.

Having said that, I'm right there with you. If it does end up being a double album I'll be thrilled.

Either a drum machine, or too many effects added that make it sound like one. I hope they didn't resort to that, though.

So the countdown today was to announce that a single is coming soon. It's called 'The Devil In I.' I don't know why they didn't just release the song. If you have a countdown on your site that lasts a full week fans are going to expect something a little more than 'The new single is...coming soon.'

Oh well, looking forward to it. I haven't devoted myself to Slipknot this much since before All Hope is Gone was released.

I hear you, I was expecting a bit more after a week long countdown. At least an album title/mask teaser or something. This was pretty anticlimactic.
