Just finally got down to listening to it.
Not bad but nothing outstanding.
I love the guitar in it.

That is everything I like about Slipknot and Corey Taylor. If this is any indication on what the whole album will sound like we're in for a blast!
I like the new song.
Honestly, I was over Slipknot. Maybe I outgrew them.
So I wasn't expecting much, but it sounds fresh yet in a familiar way if that makes sense.
I am curious about the rest of the album now.
New single called "The Devil in I" out in the "next couple weeks"
This worries me a little. As long as its in the ranks of duality or left behind, or even vermilion.
If anybody's interested, The Negative One is now available on iTunes.
Official video:
The music video is weird. Excited for the announcement next week.
Not a fan of this video. The song is still great and every time I listen to The Negative One I like it more and more, but this video is lacking. The imagery is cool for the first minute or two and then it just drags. There's still a chance I'm wrong, but it's quite obvious we're getting two albums. Two severed goat heads (the opening where she pulls back the dirty white sheet and reveals the altar actually got my heart pounding with excitement), two girls doused in black and white, the end symbol; the band is being straightforward in the weirdest way possible.
Is it just me or do the verses sound like copied form Disasterpiece?
Video's not bad though, some cool images here and there. I expected something worse. Who knows maybe I'll give the album a try even, which I can't force myself to with All Hope is Gone.
Love Corey's vocals on here and the crazy abundance of percussion from Clown and Chris.
So the drumming/percussion was all Chris and Clown? Song's growing on me.
Song is good. Video just doesn't seem to fit with the song.
Adler didn't play on the record. The drummer is jay Weinberg or something.
So the countdown today was to announce that a single is coming soon. It's called 'The Devil In I.' I don't know why they didn't just release the song. If you have a countdown on your site that lasts a full week fans are going to expect something a little more than 'The new single is...coming soon.'
Oh well, looking forward to it. I haven't devoted myself to Slipknot this much since before All Hope is Gone was released.
Jeez... I get hyping, but hyping up a hype? Damn!
You mean the artwork for the new single (that we already knew was coming, complete with title) isn't enough excitement for you?
I hear you, I was expecting a bit more after a week long countdown. At least an album title/mask teaser or something. This was pretty anticlimactic.
Now if they released it later tonight . . .

Neither confirm or denied so everything is up in the air!
Not anymore.
“I’ve received even more questions about my involvement with Slipknot since the ABC interview I did recently. The interview was originally about my new whiskey bar, but of course took a turn into the gossip of the day. As I told her, I’ve had and have nothing to do with it. I’m flattered with the association and comparisons, but I have no involvement in their record.”
