One of my favorite bands period. Chris Corner rocks my world. Now let him rock yours in the first ever IAMX video journal - the road to IAMX5 starts here!

I'm giving him another shot to win me over. I've always really liked "Heatwave" though. And "I-Polaroids."

amazing live show, but the past two records have disappointed. still love the alternative, but that's all the gets play these days.
LOL, I-Polaroids is by far my least favourite track of his.
I love the music in the first 15 seconds or so of the video journal. I really hope it makes the album.
I quite like his high voice in that song (and vocal performance in general)...it's just a fun track.
I guess I initially prefered the less moody, less dark, less serious sounding stuff. I guess. We'll see how the other spectrum fares with me this time around.
Video journal was amusing. He's just goofy. LoL

Oh, how I miss IAMX live. They seem to be hinting that there might just be some US dates for the next album cycle... hopefully. Chris was directly inspired by LA for this current batch of songs, so that has to count for something.
I can understand one not liking the last 2 albums, even if I love them. On the other hand - dude, Cold Red Light?! Chris could probably do that kind of track in his sleep at this point, but he fucking goes for it on that one. It demands to be cranked full volume. Elsewhere, Fire and Whispers continues to be a special song. The last lyric of Oh Beautiful Town still makes me glassy-eyed, too, as I discovered while listening on vinyl the other day.
And I like I-Polaroids. I'm curious what you'd think of the original (less dark) demo, Magrão. There's something appealing about the minimalism of I-Polaroids, not unlike Heatwave.
i agree that the last two albums haven't grabbed me the way the first two did. i still listen to sneaker pimps pretty often, as well, but most of the time i prefer IAMX.
would love to see them live. i think my girlfriend and i would both cream our pants if he came anywhere near us...
Video Journal #2 is up! Along with some words from Chris.

He answers a fan question and plays a bit of a new song on piano. He also hints at a possible co-producer for the current album... hmmmm.
I'm thinking it may be co-produced by Jim Abiss, since he's thanked for additional production in the VT liner notes.
Sneaker Pimps > IAMX
But IAMX has some great songs, consider me a fan.

I love being right...
Journal #5 is up!
The music that enters at the 2:39 mark is gorgeous: I really hope it turns up somewhere on the new album. Also, it seems the band is ramping up to a crowd-funded, pledge-based campaign (the newsletter is saying Oct. 1st). I hope that means unusual rewards, and US tour dates (soundcheck/meet & greet anyone?).
That music is great. Yeah, I'm hoping for a bigger tour this time around.

I just threw way too much money at this.
I'm so fucking poor, this is like torture. It appears they reached 100% in no time, which I assume means any further pledges will be immediately charged. That makes things difficult for me. I'll figure something out...
"5% of any money raised after the target is reached will go to Richard Dawkins Fdn for Reason & Science."
Fucking nice.
I got the "treasure box" and the handwritten lyrics (asked for "Oh Beautiful Town") packages.
As I type this, the project has received 215% of what Chris was asking for. In nine hours.
Wow.
Well, I liked it.
Optimistic Chris? I quite enjoyed that! Jim Abiss' influence seems rather apparent, in a good way. Makes me think this album could be a breakthrough of sorts. Also cool to note that this album reunited Chris with Liam Howe for a bit. Pretty awesome. I still need to pledge... (aiming for Meet & Greet and the 'treasure box')
I am excited about the new album but that single isn't exciting me. Single art can be found here at the ARTISTS website.

Hear a sample of 'Quiet the mind'
Not amazing, but I thought it was alright.
Agreed. Not amazing, but it felt appropriate somehow. A cameo from Chris and Janine would have been appreciated.
I love the song, though. I wish the single were available for purchase now, but it's just a few short days away... also, I signed up for the Meet & Greet finally. Irving Plaza NYC should be the perfect venue for IAMX live. Hopefully we get the actual date soon!
I just couldn't help myself, messing around with ideas. Very unofficial tour promo I threw together.
I like it more than The unified field I think. Video for sure
