They're calling it DOOM, but clearly it's a new Heretic game.

I got Doom 2016 and had barely started it when Doom Eternal came out. I made the choice to play Eternal instead of 2016.
Now that Ive beaten Eternal, and all the dlc, Im going back to play 2016.
my impression is that though Doom 2016 is an excellent game and very much scratches the Doom itch, Doom Eternal is noticeably slicker and more polished.
The further development of glory kills and now, with Dark Ages, the focus on up-close/melee combat is something I support.
Do I like plowing through demons with guns? Yes.
Do I like plowing through demons with a sword and a hammer? Yes.
Will I like plowing through demons with a bladed shield and a morning star?
Sounds like a good time.
Downward Spiral was the only one I had at the time.
It was quite suitable.
In recent years, I haven’t really listened to outside music while playing DOOM.
Maybe I should do it just for kicks.
that might be pretty fun; doing a marathon combination NIN catalog listening and DOOM playing session.
Or, you know, a playlist to accompany playing DOOM.
interesting idea, if you ask me.
I, for some reason, just never played the DOOM games growing up, but I always knew about them and had my fair share of experience with a lot of knock-offs ... but when I got my Switch in 2020, it kind of became my DOOM machine, there for a bit with how much I was playing the original DOOM and DOOM 64. Made me really love the franchise a lot and I adored playing DOOM (2016) on my PS4, too around that time. DOOM 3 is fine, but I couldn't really get into DOOM: Eternal.
And with all those DOOM games, I still never tried out DOOM II! Finally beat it the other day and going to jump more into the other versions on the latest update.
I used to play the Alien 3 soundtrack while playing Doom - quite effective!
I remember my older cousin playing Pretty Hate Machine while playing Doom...quite interesting and awesome how pre-internet days, NIN fans had the same idea
Maybe there’s something about NIN that makes it particularly fitting for the experience?
Maybe the NIN makes you feel stronger when you play.
Like Popeye and spinach.
